The VST-403 Dynamic Privacy Zone Module is the latest option for the VST-450 Universal Telemetry Receiver.
Dynamic privacy zones are areas within a camera view that are either private or restricted. These areas are masked with either black or opaque video. This ensures that the CCTV system operator is not able to view or record images within the privacy zones. When black is selected to fill the privacy zone, no part of the zone is visible to the operator. If an opaque fill is selected, the operator will see low resolution movement within the privacy zone, with this movement being, so that the operator is not able to make out any detail within the zone.
Privacy Zones are "dynamic" in that the privacy zone is automatically resized based upon the zoom position. Privacy Zones also track the area to be masked irrespective of pan and tilt position.
The VST-403 Dynamic Privacy Zone Module simply plugs into the VST-450 Universal Telemetry Receiver. Commands are transferred to the Microcontroller within the VST-403 via the I2C expansion port on the VST-450. The exact method of operation will vary based upon the control system being utilised. The VST-403 is fitted with two BNC video connectors to accept video from the camera and provide video out to the monitor/switcher/PC etc.
Dynamic Privacy Zones are set in the same way that preset positions are stored. This will vary with the device that is used to control the Telemetry Receiver. The Universal Telemetry Receiver and Dynamic Privacy Zone Module may be controlled from most matrix switchers, multiplexers and digital video recorders including equipment from Maxpro/Ultrak, Panasonic, Pelco and American Dynamics.
